Pots of Possibility, Allotment Project
We are very excited to share with you the progress we have made during the first phase of our Allotment Project. We have spent a very busy Summer fencing, planting, moving, clearing and finally laying our turf. We have also been able to enjoy the fruits of our labours, having eaten home grown tomatoes, raspberries and strawberries at snack time. There is still more to harvest, but more about that later.
The children are loving spending time on the allotment digging, planting and bug hunting. They really enjoyed helping to roll out the turf and said that lying on the grass was very relaxing!
During late autumn and winter we are going to be concentrating on refurbishing our 'Potting Shed' to make an indoor learning environment with lots of resources which we can use in inclement weather. We will also be developing our lesson plans to cover all year round.
In the meantime take a look at our before and after pictures of our allotment and why not follow us on facebook to keep up with what we are doing currently.

We have cleared and redefined existing beds, turfed the area around the potting shed and cleared away the compost heaps which were blocking access to our fruit patch
